Flash paper is made from treated cellulose (nitrocellulose), which ignites rapidly and burns without smoke or ash. Because it’s highly flammable when dry, flash paper is always shipped damp to prevent accidental ignition during transit.

Flash paper must be fully dry before you try to ignite it. If it’s even slightly damp, it won’t burn in a clean “flash” — instead, it will smoulder slowly or not ignite at all.

Fastest Way to Dry Flash Paper:
Use a Hair Dryer: Hold the sheet carefully and give it a quick blast with a hair dryer — just a few seconds is usually enough to dry it completely.
Alternative Method:
Air Dry: Lay the flash paper flat in a safe, dry place for about 24 hours. Make sure it’s spread out and not stacked, so moisture can fully evaporate.
